Crew Training, Safety Drills & Familiarization

Safety is without a doubt the most important aspect of our operations. HH Ferry Services carries out regular training of crews that meet or exceed AASPA requirements. HH Ferry Services’ crews work hard to prepare for every conceivable emergency. In fact, every shift, each crew on each vessel must participate in hands-on fire and boat drills led by the Captain, which occurs about once every two weeks. In addition, man-overboard drills are conducted each month, and quarterly and semi-annual training is conducted for specific scenarios such as marine collisions. To maintain this regime of training and drills, there are occasional delays to the schedule. That said, have crews ever been called upon to muster their expertise into action? You bet!
